Real Estate ‘like no other’ – Introducing Arizto Taranaki’s new Regional Support Manager

2 Nov 2023

Arizto is proud to introduce their latest Regional Support Manager who is overseeing an expanding team in one of the North Island’s best locations.

Alannah Walding will tell you as much about New Plymouth, being born and raised in Taranaki, as she comes on board with the rapidly growing real estate company to assist a current team of eight agents, which includes her sales team with business partner Brendon Shepheard.

She will eagerly expound on why a buyer who has sold their home in a larger centre, such as Auckland, should move to Taranaki for the amazing lifestyle, given that in Taranaki any number of lovely beaches are only 20 minutes away, or a trip to the iconic Mt Taranaki no more than 40.

Marvel at the tranquil beauty of the Bowl of Brooklands, grab a coffee and take a stroll down the Coastal Walkway, or head to Yarrows Stadium to cheer on the Taranaki Bulls, who just won the NPC Championship.

And as a mother of two, Walding knows the region has some fine schools, with the nature’s playground of Taranaki being a great place to raise kids.

"We’ve got the sea, the mountain, we’ve got everything you could possibly want. Personally, I love it myself."

After a successful start in the real estate industry, Walding learnt the value of good customer relations after spending several years as a 2IC Manager.

She then saw a Trademe advertising showcasing a paid scholarship to join the Real Estate industry, and she applied and was successful.

Walding would receive Harcourt’s Rising Star award for the Wellington region (which included Taranaki) based on quarterly results, and then the Rising Star Award for Taranaki for her first full year.

She then went on to achieve multiple awards for her success in Real Estate.

Many newcomers to real estate and its commission-payment structure struggle early on as they try to build their brand, but in four years Walding would be involved in almost 100 successful transactions.

Never one to rest on her laurels, in the past eight months Walding has worked on completing her Real Estate level 5 qualification and now holds an NZ Branch Managers licence.

Walding has always wanted to up-skill and had planned on sitting her Branch managers licence once she had done three years in real estate.

The biggest spur for doing this was she saw a better way of real estate beyond the "traditional", which led her to Arizto.

"Dan [Budd, Chief Growth Officer] offered me the position of RSM, and that pushed me to move ahead.

"The model’s very good and innovative technology makes such a difference.

"[Previously], it was a lot of paperwork – this way now, everything’s so quick and easy. The clients love it."

The New Plymouth and Stratford districts remains a very attractive proposition for buying and selling properties – REINZ statistics for September show a rise in the median price (including South Taranaki) to $581,500 - compared to $565,000 in August - and this was still before the certainty of the NZ Election outcome was known.

Walding understands how with current mortgage rates and the rising cost of living, sellers need to secure as much value as they can – which is why Arizto’s digital platform which keeps overheads down and allows for a fairer commission rate is perfect.

"It’s great knowing we offer a lower commission, with delivering the same exceptional results."

As the Taranaki agents work remotely, "it’s not just around the corner" for them to go out and cover not only New Plymouth, but Taranaki’s beautiful small towns like Okato, Opunake, Manaia, Eltham, Waitara, Inglewood and Stratford.

Therefore, for agents like herself who are considering whether it’s time to switch brands, Walding offers the reassurance that they will have on-hand support from her – being able to assist with advice, encouragement, and knowledge to run their business and handle the wide variety of transactions that come with it.

"If I can help other people, it’s rewarding to see them succeed.

"I’d love to grow that team, but also it’s looking after the team we’ve got.

"That reassurance, guidance and support from me makes a massive difference.

"If it’s all meant to be, it will all fall into place the way it’s meant to."
